Teen suicide prevention effort continues

Teen suicides became a big topic in the Fox Cities in recent years, after several local students took their lives, and local schools and crisis experts are continuing their efforts to fight the problem.

Outagamie County crisis intervention program supervisor Dianne Mandler says her crisis phone operators go into the schools and talk to students about what their options are if they're depressed, or start having suicidal thoughts.

Mandler says she's heard several success stories where a student came for help, or told someone about a friend who needed help. She says it's important to continue the efforts, so kids always know that there's a better way to solve their problems.
