Community celebrating MLK Day at LU
The community will honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King tonight, in a celebration on the Lawrence University campus.
City of Appleton diversity coordinator Kathy Flores says Dr. Wanda Washington will be the keynote speaker, and she'll focus on retaining home in challenging times.
Flores says Dr. King was a person who could relate to all of us.
The event is at the Memorial Chapel, at 6:30 p.m. The theme is "Building a Just World."
