Ex-Walker aide gets 2 years in prison

A former aide to Governor Walker, in the Milwaukee County executive's office, is going to prison for two years.

49-year-old Timothy Russell will also spend five years on extended supervision for a felony theft conviction. Walker's former deputy chief of staff pleaded guilty last November to stealing $20,000 from a veterans fund.

Prosecutors filed charges against Russell, and five others, in connection with a John Doe investigation into the county executive's office, during Walker's tenure there.

Russell apologized before he was sentenced, and he said he takes responsibility for his actions.
