LGBT initiative targets teen bullying
By changing some perceptions about the LGBT community in the Fox Valley, organizers of a new initiative hope teens can feel more comfortable.
About 300 people gathered yesterday, to launch the INCLUDE program.
Stephanie Reinhardt of Harmony Cafe says it can be a struggle for teens to gain acceptance.
Preventing teen suicides is one of the goals of the initiative. Reinhardt says she lost a close friend, and she spoke at yesterday's event in downtown Appleton. She says it was impressive to see about 300 people there.
INCLUDE is a four-month program, and once it's over, organizers will decide what steps to take next.
