Rosin excited about Grand KaKalin
The leader of Kaukauna says there are a number of
hurdles to clear yet, but a large redevelopment project would be fantastic for the city.
Mayor Gene Rosin went to last night's presentation, on the latest plans for Grand KaKalin.
Developer Randy Stadtmueller originally wanted to revamp the former Eagle paper Mill, and move the Kaukauna library there. Now he's also proposing a three-story, 47-unit senior housing project on the former Gustman site. There are future plans for more residential and commercial buildings on that property.
Rosin says that would be "huge" for the city. He says they never thought the Gustman site would be vacant for so long, because of its location.
Rosin says the construction work would also create some jobs.
