Groups holding first Eagle Days
Eagle watchers will flock to the Fox River tomorrow for a new event that showcases the nation's symbol.
1,000 Islands Nature Center in Kaukauna is organizing Eagle Days on the Fox River.
Naturalist Debbie Nowak says it starts at 10 a.m. tomorrow, and it's free.
She says they'll also have brochures that show the 13 best spots along the Fox River, between Kaukauna and the town of Menasha, to watch bald eagles.
The event includes eagle-related presentations at the 1,000 Islands Nature Center, Lutz Park in Appleton, and Fritze Park in the town of Menasha.
Nowak says they decided to create Eagle Days because people are fascinated by the birds. She expects up to 2,000 people will attend, and she hopes it will continue to grow.
