CDBG funding could go to 5 Appleton groups
An Appleton panel is divvying up grant funding
for non-profit groups.
The community and economic development committee agreed yesterday to provide between $10,000 and $15,000 to five organizations.
Ald. Peter Stueck is the chair of the committee, and he says they picked the Emergency Shelter of the Fox Valley, Habitat for Humanity, the Housing Partnership of the Fox Cities, FISC, and Harbor House.
The city received $430,000 from the federal government, through a Housing and Urban Development grant. Stueck says much of the money will go to city programs like the neighborhood revitalization initiative, and the Appleton Housing Authority.
He says they still had $63,000 for non-profits, and the city council will make a final decision on the funding, next week.
