Shawano Co. roads a mixed bag in morning
It was a tale of two cities on Shawano County roads this morning.
The eastern half of the county had scattered slippery spots, and some treacherous town and side roads, but the western half was in much worse shape.
Capt. Tom Tuma of the sheriff's department says the roads were almost entirely ice covered, and numerous cars went into the ditch. He says semis were having trouble, and some traffic backups stretched for up to a mile.
Tuma is hoping today's warm-up will improve the driving conditions.
