Walker, WEDC head pledge local partnerships

The state wants to work closely with regional and local economic development groups to help create jobs.

That's according to Governor Walker. He introduced the new CEO of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation yesterday. Reed Hall was the leader of the Marshfield Clinic for about a decade.

Walker says it's important to streamline their efforts.

The governor pulled Hall out of retirement, last November, to take over as the interim CEO. Walker says he thought Hall was the best candidate, after the state conducted a national search, and he interviewed some finalists.

Hall says he'll also try to grow Wisconsin's exports.

Governor Walker created the public-private agency two years ago, and there have been a number of issues since then. Hall says they're working on them, and following the roadmap that was included in a recent report.
