Walker would consider secretary of state bill
Majority Republicans are trying to limit the power of the
secretary of state to temporarily delay laws from taking effect, and Governor Walker says he'll consider the proposal.
Secretary Doug La Follette drew the ire of supporters of the collective bargaining law a couple of years ago, when he refused to publish it, for 10 days. The Senate approved a proposal yesterday, to force the secretary to publish laws the day after the governor signs them.
Walker says it's not a top priority, but he'll look at it, if it reaches his desk.
Walker questioned the relevance of the office in the 21st century, along with the state treasurer's position.
