Goodwill opens unique outlet store
Goodwill's new outlet store in Appleton is using a unique concept -- "pay by the pound."
Mary Haller of Goodwill says it's the first time the non-profit group has opened that kind of a store in Wisconsin, but they looked at others around the country that are working well.
She says the items had been for sale at Goodwill's 24 stores in northcentral Wisconsin. She says it's the last chance for shoppers, before the non-profit sells them to wholesalers.
Haller says they have more than 100 large, rolling tables, and they're going to switch some of them out, every 15 or 20 minutes.
The outlet store is at the Shiner Center, on W. Spencer Street. It opened this morning.
