Chilton woman dies in ice shanty

A Chilton woman died on Saturday, in an ice shanty on Lake Winnebago.

The Calumet County sheriff's department says 30-year-old Sara Meyer and 37-year-old Travis Duchow of Chilton were unconscious, when rescue crews were called to the shanty, around 4 p.m.

Duchow was flown by helicopter to Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah, and he was later transferred to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton.

Authorities are investigating the cause of Meyer's death, and an autopsy is scheduled for today.

The shanty was about a half-mile from shore, off of Ecker Lakeland Drive.
