Economic development group changes name
A group that works to grow the local economy has a new name.
Larry Burkhardt of the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce says the Fox Cities Economic Development Corporation will now be known as the Appleton Regional Partnership.
Burkhardt says when they're trying to recruit companies across the country, and the world, it's important to have a name that matches a place on a map. He says many people outside of Wisconsin don't know where the Fox Cities are.
Burkhardt says they still want to emphasize the partnerships they have throughout the region, and that why they included those two words in the new name.
Local business leaders gathered this morning to unveil the new name.
