Local districts impacted by Skyward bid
A Wisconsin software developer that lost out to a Minnesota company. on a school software contract, is officially appealing the decision.
Skyward in Stevens Point currently provides student management or financial systems to about three dozen districts in the Fox Valley and Green Bay areas.
The state wants all districts to use the same student management program, and Infinite Campus won the $15 million deal.
Shiocton district administrator Chris VanderHeyden says they would have to switch from Skyward, and he says the state may pick up some of their transition costs. But he says he's not sure how much..
Fox Valley Lutheran has a number of Skyward products. Principal Paul Hartwig says they apparently won't be forced to switch, because they're a private school. But he says because students transfer in and out of their school system, they may have to eventually make the change, so they're compatible.
