Police arrest man for stealing car
A 20-year-old man is in custody, after Appleton police
say he stole a car this morning, on the city's northeast side.
Officers later found a stolen truck nearby.
Sgt. Dave Lund says someone took a 2002 Ford Taurus from an open garage, in the 2500 block of E. Sundance Drive, around 4:15 a.m. He says another car in the garage was damaged.
Lund says a Community Service Officer saw the stolen car about five minutes later, and police started following the driver. He says Gage Dawiedczyk pulled into a driveway, in the same area, and he was taken into custody.
When officers combed the neighborhood, Lund says they found a stolen truck that was parked along a street. He says it was taken from the 700 block of W. Spring Street.
Lund says officers found several items in one of the vehicles, and investigators are trying to figure out if they were stolen.
