Justice Bradley sought protection from Prosser

The state Supreme Court justice who claims another justice put his hands around her neck during an argument in 2011, is speaking out about the high court's problems.

Supreme Court Justice David Prosser no longer faces disciplinary action for the incident that allegedly happened in June of 2011, during an argument among the justices about the collective bargaining law.  But Justice Ann Walsh Bradley decided to tell her side of the story yesterday, after remaining silent on the issue.

In a statement recusing herself from Prosser's disciplinary case, Walsh Bradley revealed that she and Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson received stepped up security in the months leading up to the altercation, after a court official expressed concern about Prosser's temper.

Walsh Bradley says the tensions remain, and she and Abrahamson continue locking their doors while they're in their offices.

She also criticized Justice Pat Roggensack for dismissing the accusations, and denying that there are problems between the justices, while running for reelection.

Critics question the timing of yesterday's court filing, claiming that Walsh Bradley is trying to sabotage Roggensack less than a week before the spring primary election.
