Arsonist going to prison for clinic fire

The Kaukauna man convicted of starting a fire at a Planned Parenthood clinic will spend 11 years in prison.

A jury found 50-year-old Francis Grady guilty of arson, for the small fire last April, at the facility in Grand Chute, and he was in federal court in Green Bay yesterday afternoon, for a sentencing hearing. He'll also serve three years on extended supervision, when he's released.

Court records say Grady used a hammer to break a window at the clinic, poured gasoline inside, and started it on fire. The small fire caused minor damage. No one was hurt.

Grady testified last November that he didn't want to burn down the building, but he hoped he would "release the children." He said he "saw souls coming out of the windows," after he started the fire.
