Village project on ballot in Hortonville

Voters in the village of Hortonville will weigh in on a building referendum next Tuesday.

Administrator Patrick Vaile says they hope to build a new municipal building, on village property, just to the north of the high school. He says they would bring the village offices, police station and library, under one roof. He says they'd also have room for a senior center, and community activities.

Vaile says given their circulation numbers, their current library should be three times bigger. He says they also need more room at the village office.

Vaile says at most, the project would cost nearly $2.9 million. He says that would mean the owner of a $100,000 home would pay about $90 more a year, in village property taxes.
