Ellis wants quick high court rulings on laws
The president of the Senate wants any legal challenges to
state laws, or statutes, to go directly to Wisconsin's Supreme Court.
Sen. Mike Ellis of Neenah says the high court should then make a ruling on any lawsuit, within 150 days. He says there should be bi-partisan support, because he believes it's the right thing to do. He says lower courts shouldn't be able to hold up the will of two of the three branches of state government.
The proposal comes at a time when the voter ID law is hung up at the appellate court level. Governor Walker's controversial collective bargaining law was on hold for several months, because of court challenges.
