Baldwin, Ribble meet with businesses

Business leaders from northeast Wisconsin got a chance this morning, to hear from state and federal lawmakers.

The Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce hosted a legislative breakfast at the Radisson Paper Valley hotel in downtown Appleton.

U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin says they need to tackle the debt and deficit, while growing the economy. She says they need to take a balanced approach, so they don't address one area, and hurt the other.

Congressman Reid Ribble says lawmakers need to focus on a number of changes to boost the economy. He says they include reforming the tax, regulatory, and TORT systems.

The Sherwood Republican says it's important to hear a business owner's perspective.

Republican State Senate President Mike Ellis of Neenah talked to the group about the state's budget picture, and the potential for economic growth.
