26 vehicles involved in Hwy. 41 pileup
A 26-vehicle pile-up shut down the northbound lanes along a stretch of Highway 41 near Oshkosh, Tuesday afternoon.
Winnebago County sheriff's department officials say the weather likely played a role in the crash on the Lake Butte des Morts bridge. They say snow was blowing across the lake, causing white-out conditions, on the bridge.
Authorities say three semis and a highway department truck were also involved in the accident. They say three people went to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
The crash happened around 1:15 p.m., and the highway reopened shortly before 4 p.m.
