Voters approve village complex in Hortonville
A municipal building project in Hortonville will move forward.
Voters approved a referendum yesterday, 58 to 42 percent.
The new complex will bring the village offices, police station, and library under one roof. The village-owned site that's just north of the high school also has room for a senior and community center.
Administrator Patrick Vaile says their existing facilities are inadequate.
Vaile says now the village will move forward with the design process, and construction could start in June.
The referendum authorizes the village to spend up to almost $2.9 million on the project. If the price goes that high, village property taxes would increase by about $90 a year, for the owner of a $100,000 home.
