Oshkosh area man victim of Hwy. 26 crash
Authorities say a man from the Oshkosh area was the victim of a deadly head-on crash Tuesday morning, in Winnebago County.
41-year-old Michael Smithson was driving on Highway 26 in the town of Nekimi, when his car was hit, head-on, by a delivery truck. Investigators say the delivery truck driver lost control, near Cottonwood Avenue, and slippery road conditions were a factor.
Smithson was pronounced dead at the scene.
