Neenah police hope to prevent thefts
Police in Neenah hope they don't have to investigate any new cases of theft this week.
Officer Cory McKone is the department's crime prevention officer, and he says they're challenging the community to make it seven days, without any cases.
He says theft is often a crime of opportunity. McKone says people should take some common sense steps, like locking their homes and cars, and keeping valuables out of plain view.
Last year, Neenah police received more than 400 reports of theft.
The department is holding a crime prevention presentation on Thursday night, at 6 p.m., at the police station.
