Oshkosh hotel renovations nearing completion
Bookings are starting to come in, as construction crews near completion of a multi-million dollar public-private hotel renovation project in Oshkosh.
Work started last year to transform the former City Center hotel, into the Oshkosh Premier Waterfront Hotel and Conference Center. Rich Batley is the hotel developer. He says they've already booked a few conventions in 2014, and several weddings for this year. Batley says the hotel is coming together nicely.
Batley expects the hotel and convention center will open in late-April.
The UW-Oshkosh Foundation and the city of Oshkosh teamed up on the project with a private developer. They say it could enhance the city's downtown, and serve as a teaching tool for certain college courses.
