Appleton looks at tech charter school
A proposed charter school in the Appleton school
district would help address the skills gap.
Assistant superintendent Judy Baseman says the Appleton Technical Academy would be based out of West high school. She says they would partner with Fox Valley Technical College, to offer specialized classes. She says they would focus on industries where companies are looking for employees.
The school board's programs and services committee signed off on the plans this morning.
Baseman says they're still in the early stages of the process to open the charter school, and they hope to have it up and running in the fall of 2014.
