Valley leaders want to tackle obesity
A number of community leaders in the Fox Valley want to tackle the issue of obesity.
United Way Fox Cities president Peter Kelly says they're involved in a summit, today and next Friday, to look for solutions. He says there are already efforts under way, but there might be better ways to work together, or different areas to focus on.
Kelly says a 2010 survey showed 62 percent in the Fox Cities are overweight or obese. He says that can be a tremendous cost to the community, in the health care industry, and other areas.
About 150 people are participating in the summit. It's taking place at the Bridgewood Resort and Conference Center in Neenah.
