Dentists focus on health of kids' teeth

Dentists in the Fox Valley, and around Wisconsin, spent time last month, reaching out to children about the importance of the health of their teeth.

Dr. Gayatri Bohsale works for Dental Associates in the Fox Valley, and she says they visited schools to hand out dental kits. She says they also partnered with non-profits to clean the teeth of kids from low-income families.

She says national research shows parents need to focus on dental health, early on, because more than 50 percent will have some tooth decay, by the time they're five.

Bohsale says some parents think baby teeth are expendable. But she says they help children chew naturally, and they're a pathway to their permanent teeth.
