Dow sets record despite sequestration
The Dow Jones industrial index set a record today, breaking its previous high of 14,198.
The surge comes just days after Congress failed to reach a compromise on the sequestration cuts. Christina Winch is the CEO of Winch Financial in Appleton. She says market analysts figured that the cuts would happen and they were prepared. She says the market is in good shape.
Winch says if the market conditions take a turn for the worse, it could correct itself, and that could hurt.
But she says it's not clear when, or if, that will happen.
The previous record was set nearly 5-1/2 years ago.
