Council on board with Bay Beach plans
The leader of a local tourism group is applauding the
Green Bay city council's decision to approve a $20 million master plan to upgrade Bay Beach Amusement Park over the next decade.
Greater Green Bay Convention and Visitors Bureau executive director Brad Toll says the Zippin Pippin was a great addition, and the plans for a new swinging pirate ship ride, called the Sea Dragon, will only attract more people.
He says the master plan also calls for upgrades to the pavilion and picnic areas, a boardwalk, and several other rides that cater to different age groups. Toll says the improvements will likely draw new visitors to Green Bay.
Toll says by adding rides that are targeted to teens and adults, like the Zippin Pippin and Sea Dragon, Bay Beach will become a more attractive option to more families.
