Woman in critical condition after Hwy. 41 crash

A 38-year-old Appleton woman has life-threatening injuries after her car rolled over on Highway 41, late this morning.

State Patrol officials are investigating the crash that happened in the southbound lanes, between the College Avenue and Prospect Avenue interchanges, in Grand Chute. Trooper Justin Hansen says it appears that the semi and car merged into the same lane, and the driver of the car lost control. He says the woman was thrown from her car, when it rolled over.

Ryan Schultz was staying at a hotel along the highway, and he was taking his dog out, when he witnessed the accident. He says it sounded like the semi popped a tire, then it hit the car, and the rolled over.

Authorities closed the southbound lanes of Highway 41 for about 2.5 hours, while they reconstructed the crash.
