Assembly leader urges patience on vouchers
The Republican leader of the Assembly is calling on Senate Republicans to think twice, before they remove Governor Walker's school voucher proposal from the budget.
Senate President Mike Ellis of Neenah says most GOP senators want to remove the voucher expansion either because they feel it should be voted on as a separate bill, or they don't agree with it.
Assembly Speaker Robin Vos of Burlington says he's confident the budget will pass in the Assembly, with the voucher expansion included, and he hopes senators give it a chance.
The Senate and Assembly won't likely start debating the budget until late this spring.
