Attendance up at state girls tourney
The number of fans at the state girls basketball tournament
was up substantially, in the first year at the Resch Center in Green Bay.
Attendance nearly reached 40,000, and that's up almost one-third from last year, at the Kohl Center in Madison.
Cora Haltaufderheid of PMI Entertainment says that exceeded their goal of 34,000. She says it definitely helped that three teams from the area played in championship games.
This year was the first time the tournament was held outside of Madison, and Haltaufderheid says she heard good feedback from fans. She says they'll sit down soon to go over the event.
PMI signed a two-year contract to host the tournament at the Resch Center.
