Recruiter for Marines facing charges
A recruiter for the Marines from Ashwaubenon is in custody on a $100,000 bond on charges of identity theft and possessing child pornography.
Ashwaubenon police say 27-year-old Sgt. Andrew Curran asked recruits for the passwords to their Facebook and email accounts to try to get pictures of young women. They say he would pose as the recruit, and claim that he was at boot camp.
Curran is accused of posting some of the nude pictures on a pornographic website. Police say he also got passwords from about 40 women, and hacked into their computers to get pictures.
The Naval Criminal Investigative Services unit also got involved last August, and police say they found child pornography on Curran's computer.
