Family Care waiting list gone in Outagamie Co.

By the end of the month, people with disabilities in Outagamie County won't have to wait for their number to be called, if they need some medical assistance.

County Executive Tom Nelson says it's been 25 years since the county's health services department didn't have a waiting list.

He says the services people need range from periodic in-home care, to staying at Brewster Village, the county's nursing home.

Nelson says there were over 300 people on the waiting list two years ago, after Governor Walker froze enrollment in the Family Care program to save money.
