UW-System budget would limit tuition hike
Tuition increases in the UW-System would be the lowest in a decade, under Governor Walker's proposed budget.
That's what System President Kevin Reilly told members of the Legislature's budget committee yesterday.
The two-year spending plan includes an additional $181 million for the state's universities. Reilly says he's still concerned about faculty pay, because it's 18 percent lower than the national average.
Of the $181 million in new funding, Reilly says about $150 million of it is already committed to expenses like leases, utilities, and previously approved construction projects.
