Broke my shovel!
Wednesday, Feb, 27 2013
OK, now I know I've had it with February. I broke my favorite shovel.
Sure, I snowthrow when I can, but when it's just that inch or two, or maybe it's time to scrape off some packed down snow, this baby could cut it. Big, strong, kinda heavy, but it could gnaw through the nastiest chowder. My wife never used it because it was too heavy, so it was all mine! Sure enough, snapped the handle right down at the base where it attaches to the big, heavy pusher blade. It lived a good life and tossed a few zillion pounds of snow through many a winter. Great time to replace a shovel, at the end of a relentless month of snow. Wish me luck, or some advice on who has these type of shovels anymore!

Sole Burner/ Marathon
Tuesday, Feb, 19 2013
Had Gary and Steve with me today to start pumping up the Sole Burner Team Captain breakfast coming up this Thursday, 7am at the Holiday Inn on Nicolet in Appleton. Call 321-1361 to get involved. It's an amazing effort that has grown from a small walk/run to a huge fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. The Sole Burner is coming up May 11th.
Second, Debbie Jansen from Community First joins me Wednesday to talk about early registration for the Fox Cities Marathon. You get better pricing! Debbie will have the details at 8:15.

The President tonight
Tuesday, Feb, 12 2013
Tonight, the President delivers his first State of the Union address of his second term. We'll have it live on WHBY, starting at 8....What am I looking for? It appears we may see new details on troop withdrawals in Afghanistan. Also, more on how the President intends to direct the momentum of immigration reform. The economy is getting better, slowly. What does he propose to get it moving? And, what will we see from Marco Rubio, who will deliver the Republican response following the President's address. He is very popular and has to be a prime contender for 2016. Should be an interesting night....We'll have highlights on the morning show Wednesday.

Best and worst from SB 47!
Monday, Feb, 4 2013
Best and Worst from Sunday's Super Bowl: best has to be the pre-game show of Phil Mickelson winning the Phoenix Open...it's just fun to see golf and 75 degree weather! Oh, second best was the power going off right in the middle of Phil Simms commentary during the 3rd quarter! Now, the worst has to be shared by the cast of buffoons that James Brown works with on CBS' coverage. Dan Marino, who just admitted he had a love child with a CBS employee, who constantly bumbles his commentary. Bill Cowher, who has good insights, but can rarely spit them out. Rivaled only by the almost unintelligible Shannon Sharpe, and capped off by the oft-cliched Boomer Esiason.
