Thanksgiving Day

Tuesday, Nov, 26 2013

Thoughts on Turkey Day....

We always get a bird that I'm not sure is big enough, but it always makes it!  I know some people don't care for leftovers, but I love them.  Especially turkey and gravy...just don't overdo it!

Packers and Lions at 11:30 on WHBY.  Should be about right, since we normally attack the bird at about 2:30, 3.....Then, your post-meal nap kicks in right about halftime of the Cowboys game.

We have a tradition of giving our dog, Bailey her own mini-plate of turkey.  Nothing else--just some shredded slices of the bird.  She loves it--about sets a record inhaling it in seconds.

The basic menu this year appears to be: turkey, dressing, sweet potatoes, cranberries, green bean casserole and butter rolls.  Yum!

Have a great Thanksgiving!

Packers Monday

Monday, Nov, 18 2013

Tough stretch...3 straight losses for Green Bay to drop to 5-5. Hard to believe, but it's been just two weeks since Aaron Rodgers was pounded into the turf at Lambeau, though it might seem like a month or more....

Tonic for the Pack might be the visiting Vikings.  We have the pre-game at 10, with kick at noon on Sunday.  Justin Steinbrinck at Storm Team 5 says the early look at Sunday mentions a high of 25!

My guess is Rodgers stays out this week, then targets a return Thanksgiving Day at Detroit.  My only issue with that is that Detroit is notoriously one of the dirtiest teams in the NFL, so keep your head on a swivel, Aaron!

Wednesday, Nov, 6 2013

Had Joe Ornstein from the Red Smith Sports Award Banquet on the show this morning. The date for this year's banquet is Tuesday,  January 21st, once again at the Radisson Paper Valley in Appleton.

This is one of the highlight's of the oft-long Wisconsin winter. We bring in great sports dignitaries, recognize local sports volunteers, and award some of the area's great young athletes. Plus, it's a fun opportunity to goof off and enjoy a fun night out!

Get your tickets for this year's banquet by calling Joe at 920-570-2536,, or go to redsmith. org for more info.  PLUS..a bonus: we will tip you off to the special award winners and speakers that are coming to the banquet right here on my blog.  One of this coming January's honorees is.....golden. I will explain more in the coming days.....
