Remember recently I did a story on the PhilCast about what was called the most 'unfortunate names' of cities in this country?

Well on the Thursday show I have the British version of that list, also just out.

Man, they've got us beat over there when it comes to goofy names for their towns. Spoiler alert....here's the winner:

You can't make this stuff up.

Nor could I make up the name of the valley that this town is in. Thank goodness we're just the plain old Fox Valley!

I'll expand on that and have more from the list on the show today.

Also Lips LaBelle drops by the studio to chat up Hollywood news and gossip of the week.

Then at 5:00 we go to Packers' pre-game coverage today.

"Bambi's Bombers"

As you get older (I turn 54 later this month) your every day life from time to time brings you reminders that you're getting older. I mean, in my head, I'm not really getting much older. Heck I feel about 30-something. I can hop on a bike and ride 40 miles averaging 15 mph any time I want. That's not too old is it?

But then you get little reminders about the length of the time you've already been blessed with on this Earth...little reminders like yesterday on the PhilCast when out of the blue I started remembering my college days and how I covered "Bambi's Bombers"...the Milwaukee Brewers of the late 70's....even had my own baseball show on the radio.

As I rattled off the names of the guys on the team I spent so much time with I was reminded of my age when Justin Hull, PhilCast sports, talked about not even being around then. Yikes. I guess I AM getting old...er, ah, older at the very least.

I could remember almost all the names of the players from that era, and if you can not, CLICK HERE for the roster.

1978...93 wins and no playoffs. Ouch.

Cosby tickets for you

Hey we've got a pair of tickets to see Bill Cosby at the PAC in Appleton when his tour stops here in October.

Get your best impersonation ready because I'll give the tickets away to someone who does a good Cosby for me on the show today right after the 3:00 news.

Also today, I'll play the full audio clip of the goofy flight attendant who put on quite a show on the way to Madison from Chicago recently.

The fattest and slimmest cities in America and new words and phrases added to the dictionary...even Brett Favre is involved in this one.
