Never ever take your back for granted.
Never.
Ever.

My God....I thought I was through the worst of it when I was feeling pretty good over the weekend, one week after a freak pop of my lower back.

Then all of the sudden everything went back downhill on Sunday.
I'm still sliding downhill as I write this....literally....It's a seated dance on an ice pack while medicated to find that one sweet spot where it doesn't feel like my spine is coming through my skin.

I know, I know....
Go see someone....make a doctor appointment.
I'm a typical guy.
That won't happen unless I literally can not move off the floor.
THEN I might think about calling for help.

Meantime, pass the ice.
I should probably not even try to go in to the studio to do the PhilCast today. But with Reggie being on vacation I think that would mean Bob Salm would have to take over, and no one wants to see that happen.

(I love ya Salami)

((I blame it on the medication....I can't be responsible for what I say or write at this time))

Fired because the sirens didn't sound?

Sunday, Aug, 18 2013

There was a lot of activity over the weekend regarding the lack of tornado sirens in Outagamie County when that outbreak of twisters hit in the middle of the night.
There was a private meeting.
There was a policy review.
There will be another meeting Monday night.

Was POLICY followed?
They're saying it was not.

Why weren't the weather sirens sounded?
Is it the responsibility of the county and the sirens to warn people in their houses at one in the morning?

Should the Outagamie Co. emergency management director be fired over this?

My answer on the Monday PhilCast.

Also...
"HowzYer Weekend?" chat of course...this weekend I actually had my wife with me here at our new home in the Valley and we did quite a bit....and of course I've got stories from the lakeshore to the grocery store.

Talk soon.........

A very special wedding dress

Friday, Aug, 16 2013

Here she is.

"Candice" from Washington state, a 9-1-1 operator who made another woman's wedding possible by coming up with a plan to get her a wedding dress that she herself had worn over a year earlier.

It's a pretty amazing story. It took a lot to make it all happen, and it restores your faith in the goodness of people.

I'll have the entire story on the PhilCast Friday, along with studio visits from both Mary Hirvela for "Chadoin' This Weekend?" and Pippa with her "ReciPIPPA the Week".

Greatest summer song ever

Thursday, Aug, 15 2013

On the Thursday PhilCast one of the things I'll be ranting about is this Yahoo list of the greatest summer songs ever released.

First of all, Katy Perry is on the list.
Whaaaa?
I don't think so.

Here's MY vote for the best summer song ever.

I know, I know, it's tough to pick just one. And no one is going to agree on this stuff because it's up to personal taste.

But come on....ALL-TIME and Katy Perry? I just threw up in my mouth a little.

Here's a link to a 60's video of the band doing the song if you'd like to give it a listen.

Put your shades on...
Grab a cool beverage and your surf board and get into it baby!

As a public service, today on the PhilCast one of the things I will be talking about is a warning for all you drivers.

Watch out for cars like this one.

Why?

You'll see....or better put....you'll HEAR on the PhilCast Wednesday afternoon.
