Pardo's voice silenced at 96

Tuesday, Aug, 19 2014

One of the most-recognizable voices ever has been silenced.

Don Pardo passed away Monday at the age of 96.

I'll always hear him saying,
"It's Saturday Night Lllllliiiiiiive" on my TV, but there was Jeopardy and scores of other shows he voiced as well.

He started his radio career in 1938!

Suddenly when I say I started my radio career in 1978 that doesn't seem so old.

Gee Wally, why'd ya go and do that?

Monday, Aug, 18 2014

Wally here must have had a bad taste in his mouth after he licked a lady who came into the giraffe enclosure at the Madison zoo over the weekend.

Things started well enough when the thing licked her, but then he kicked her in the face.

The woman was not only seriously injured, but ticketed as well, since it's pretty obvious she had no business being in there in the first place.

Why did she do it?

She says she really likes giraffes.

Apparently the feeling wasn't mutual as she got the old licked & kicked treatment for sticking her nose where it didn't belong.

This and other stories including a new app for moms that forces the kids to call you back....and the mom who was busted for using the F-word at the grocery store.

Friday, Friday

Thursday, Aug, 14 2014

So enjoy a classic clip or two on Friday's PhilCast, as I take a day off.

Reggie will still have a "Rascal of the Week", "Chadoin' This Weekend?" and the "ReciPIPPA the Week" in the 4-5 hour.

Back on Monday afternoon.

Bad Hair Day

Wednesday, Aug, 13 2014

Here's the lady I'll be talking about on the Wednesday PhilCast.....says she's having a bad hair day....everyday since getting it cut like this.

Now she's suing the place that gave her the cut.

Can she win?

Well, I'm not sure about that, but I AM sure that this a bad hair day right here!

My Robin Williams connection

Tuesday, Aug, 12 2014

To me, THIS is Robin Williams.

I loved "Good Morning Vietnam".

What wasn't to love?

A radio funnyman who broke the rules and did it his way,

Robin nailed the actual real-life character he was portraying in that movie.

Sure, he was Mork when I first saw him, but lets be honest, I was paying more attention to Mindy on my TV screen.

I never had the chance to interview Robin Williams. Just as well, because I think I would have stumbled through it, grasping to not say the wrong thing in the presence of one of the great ones.
