It's hard to believe and seems somewhat unfair to me, a guy who loves the heat of summer so much. Today is the first day of my favorite season, yet it already marks another occasion from the dark side as well.

As of tomorrow the days already start getting shorter. Doesn't seem fair coming just 24 hours after the official start of the summer season.

The Brewers play on WHBY this Wed. afternoon, so the PhilCast will be shortened quite a bit. That actually works for me because it gives Sandy and me a chance to do a little house hunting in the area. On a personal note I can tell you it is still slow going when it comes to selling and buying, at least in my world.

I can also tell you that Ms. ReciPIPPA the Week herself Pippa is scheduled to drop by the studio today to pick up some Florida sea shells I brought back for her from our vacation....a little thank you for her work on the ReciPIPPA the Week. Maybe I'll have her and Mrs. Biggest, who will also be in the studio at the time, say hi during today's "The Last" segment.

Stay cool. Me? I'm just trying to hang on to summer already.

There is lots of buzz about this new monster dog coming to Summerfest in a couple of weeks.

They're even running a contest to name the beast. One of the names being kicked around is Dogzilla, which brought back memories for me because many years ago while broadcasting at the Wisconsin State Fair I remember a certain giant corn dog on a stick that Bill Michaels and Mark Reardon brought back to the booth.

Yup, the thing was huge and we dubbed it Dogzilla back then. I wish I still had the picture we took of the three of us with that thing. Needless to say there were some laughs on the air over that one.

Now knowing that I love a good dog, you might find my review of this thing a bit surprising when I talk about it this afternoon on the PhilCast.

I'll also have my review of Dallas last night on TV.
