Your greatest pleasure

Wednesday, Sep, 25 2013

It's a pretty simple question:
"What brings you your greatest pleasure?"

But once asked and you start thinking about it, coming up with an answer is not so easy.

Maybe on a good day the perfect bike ride would be my answer.

Maybe after a good meal some form of eating would be my answer.

You could go for the obvious and say something about bringing happiness to a spouse or a family member, but that's too mushy.

There's sex of course, which surprisingly did NOT show up at the top of the list from a story about this I will do on the PhilCast today.

Now this has got me thinking....
--A beautiful day and a classic car
--A walk on the beach in Sanibel collecting seashells
--The Packers trouncing the Bears or VikeQueens
--Making people laugh
--The first sunny, warm day of spring each year
--Christmas Eve
--Thanksgiving turkey
...and the list could go on. Like I said....simple question/not-so-simple answer.
We'll discuss on the show today.

Let fries be fries

Tuesday, Sep, 24 2013

Would you like fries with that?

or

Would you like 'Satisfries' with that?

Burger King announces its new, healthier satisfries french fries.

I say just eat fries if you're gonna eat fries.

Notice they are crinkle cut...know why? I'll have that answer when I talk about this on the Tuesday PhilCast show.

SUCCESS! The Tour de PhilCast II in the books

Sunday, Sep, 22 2013

Thanks to everyone who came out on Saturday despite the not-so-nice weather.
Two groups rode two different distances and we had riders of all ages, shapes, speeds and sizes taking place.

All the pictures will be on the PhilCast charity DVD that will be released in November, but I do have a few posted on the PhilCast photo page for you as well for now.

Gear 'N Up.....THANKS FOR HOSTING the ride and the party afterward!

Tour de PhilCast shirts

Tuesday, Sep, 10 2013

We're doing it again PhilCast Family...a group bike ride for listeners to meet and greet and have some fun on two wheels. A family event that will feature two groups of riders, we'll share stories, snacks and refreshments afterward at host and PhilCast sponsor, "Gear 'N Up" bike shop in Neenah, WI

CLICK HERE to get to the Gear 'N Up web site.

The Date: Saturday, September 21st
The Time: We roll out at 3:00 p.m. from the shop
The Ride: Justin at Gear 'N Up will be leading one group that will be taking a route of about 30 miles at a moderate pace. I'll be leading a group that will go about 20 miles at an easy pace. We encourage all levels of riders who are fans of the show to take part.

This is a social riding event. No one is left behind. Plus, we'll make sure we have riders with mad skills to make sure you have help if there is a mechanical issue along the way.

Also, as part of the gathering afterward, we'll put the names of all riders into a helmet and do a drawing for some PhilCast gear. And that will include a few custom-made Tour de PhilCast T-shirts made by non-other than SuperFan Judy herself.

Also, some pizzas from PhilCast friend Josephine's Pizza and Pasteria.

So that we have an idea of how many of you may be attending that afternoon, could you please send me an email with an RSVP...even if it's only possible that you may be riding. Bring a guest. Bring some riding friends. Bring some club members.

We did this a couple of years ago and it turned out to be a really fun way for listeners to meet each other thanks to bikes and riding!

Should be lots of fun. Hope to see you there.

Pack Yak is Back!

Monday, Sep, 9 2013

We're back for a fourth year.
Come 3:00 on the PhilCast it's our turn to talk Green Bay Packers' football.

It's "Pack Yak" brought to you by Insta-Print Plus of Appleton.

Join Rich Ratay and me for our take on what went right, what went wrong, and what's next for the Packers.

Your calls are always welcome during our discussion.

One thing's for sure...I guess that trade SF made for #81 turned out to work pretty well for them.
