HowzYer?

Monday, Aug, 13 2012

1-10, "HowzYer Weekend?" Go to the PhilCast Facebook fan page to tell us about yours.
Then listen in the 3:00 hour today. Call live too if you like.

Me?

Lets see, my weekend included stories from not one but two parties and oh yeah...that little matter of being clipped by an SUV on my bike ride Saturday.

Oh, and here is the picture of the bird poop on a guy's windshield....he says that's Michael Jackson there. Do you see it?

Great picture

Favorite picture of the day today hands down.

Yeah, they painted the lines right over a raccoon.

Do I really need to say any more?

And so it begins...

Thursday, Aug, 9 2012

It's Packer time on the "Woobie" baby!

I don't get very excited about pre-season games, but I AM excited about the fact that this is a signal of better things to come...the NFL season will be upon us soon, with the opening game set for the weekend after Labor Day.

Packers' pre-game starts today at 5:00 so the PhilCast will be cut a bit short today.

While I am talking Packers here, I should tell you that the plan is to begin the third year of "Pak Yak" on Tuesday, Sept. 4th to preview the season and that opener on Sunday.

The Yak will once again be the featured segment on the PhilCast on Monday's in the 3:00 hour. I guess I better check to make sure co-host Rich Ratay isn't holding out this season. Matter of fact, he hasn't been in broadcast training camp yet. No wait. Never mind. We don't have that.

GO PACK!

My kind of concert

Wednesday, Aug, 8 2012

What a wonderful night at the Wisconsin State Fair Tuesday night, where we lingered until closing time after catching Herman's Hermits live.

And yes, this is the REAL HH with Peter Noone touring.

He was funny, engaging and can still sing too. I was impressed. He played to the crowd with his great sense of humor, giving away shirts and CDs from the stage at times.

They played some great British Invasion stuff.

CLICK HERE to listen to the montage I edited together from the concert last night.

The weather was fantastic and we stood toward the back of the large crowd for the entire set.

Then almost magically afterward "Mr. State Fair" was there standing next to me just as the concert ended. I hadn't seen him until then.

"Bill of Fair" then directed us to the perfect night cap, a cream puff ale to sip over good conversation.

I hit my favorites to eat as planned, staying away from the gimmick stuff on a stick.

--Walleye sandwich
--Brat with kraut
--Cream puff
(oh, and one apple-cinnamon doughnut once we got home)

Needless to say, a good time was had by all. And if you like Herman and his Hermits they are playing again Wednesday night at 8:00 at the Cousins Subs Amphitheater.

Tidbit of the day

Tuesday, Aug, 7 2012

A Scottish bra maker said its research indicates women's lingerie fashions follow a 40-year cycle of vintage styles coming back into vogue.

Now we can all sleep tonight.

Coming up on the show Tuesday...

Sheep texting.

Not making this up either!
