The "Brewers' Game Game"

The Brewers play an afternoon game on WHBY Thursday, meaning the start of the PhilCast will be slightly delayed. Which brings me to the subject matter of today's blog.

When there is an afternoon game on a radio station that carries the Milwaukee Brewers play-by-play the afternoon show air-talent sits and waits for their show to begin, not knowing exactly when that will be.

Now I know this is no big deal for you the listener, but believe me when I tell you it's a big deal for the people waiting to go on the air with their shows. There are paid commercials on a log involved....show content planned....interviews/guests possibly hanging in the balance, newscasts. It matters.

It has also become a science as to guessing when the post-game show will end and the regular programming will start.

Several of my former producers used to always try to guess that exact time. But which guy is the best at doing it? That's my "Brewers' Game Game" this season. Former (and current) producers guess the exact time the Brewers' coverage will end on afternoon games. The closest to the exact time without going over wins 10 points. Hit the time exactly and it's a whopping 25 points!

At the end of the season the winner is the man with the most points. (and I buy them lunch)
This afternoon marks round three. Current standings:

 Reggie: 10 pts.

 Armen: 10 pts.

 Greg: 0 pts.

 Doug?

It occurs to me that yet another former producer of mine, Doug Russell, may want to be in on this. All these guys can be found on Twitter. Doug, you want in? Heck you could start today in Round 3 tied with Greg and you haven't even played yet! Let me know.

And feel free to play along at home this afternoon. Go Brewers. Talk to you after the game.
