$700K for a skateboard park in Appleton?
Thursday, Sep, 6 2012
I give up.$700,000 to build a skate board park in Appleton?
What in the wide, wide world a sports is a goin' on here?
I keep checking the figure to make sure I'm not adding some extra zeros some how.
Nope.
They want to spend $700,000 to build a skate board park here.
Heck, they're talking $25-$35,000 just to study out a plan to do it....and that I believe would include some taxpayer money.
Um, that's where things get interesting to me.
If a group wants to try to raise that kind of insane cash for skate boarders that's one thing. But when public funding comes into play, that's quite another.
But still I go back to that bloated figure....
$700,000?
Will the jumps be 18k gold?
I'll discuss and take your calls on this at 3:00 today.
3:45-ish we're in for a treat as my old pal Tom Brokejaw joins us live to talk about Tom being taken to a hospital this morning because he was 'light-headed' at the time.
And Lips LaBelle is back at 4:30-ish with his Hollywood news and gossip segment.

Health report is in
Wednesday, Sep, 5 2012
Recently Woodward Radio held a health screening for employees, a chance to see where you stand with such wonderful things as cholesterol and blood pressure.

Being a guy who is active and tries, I stress TRIES, to eat right most of the time I was curious to see the numbers. You see I'm also a guy who avoids regular checkups at the doctor's office.
They give you an overall health rating on a 100 scale, then tell you what you are at risk of dying from I guess.
Me?
I'll reveal my score and what they figure I'll meet my maker from on the PhilCast Wednesday afternoon. But I can tell you I'll take issue with one of their methods of measurement as well.
I wonder what my fellow Woobians scored?
Did Bob Salm beat me out in BP?
Did Bill Sebastian clobber me in the GOOD cholesterol category?
Worse yet, there's Reggie to go up against!

So close to a Bo Derek
Tuesday, Sep, 4 2012
I came so close to a Bo Derek, a perfect 10 for my Labor Day weekend, but alas perfection eludes me once again. Since the weekend doesn't really end for me until I go to bed Monday night I have to include what happened on Monday night in my weekend. Thus, no perfect 10...which I had going until then. The story as part of "Howz Yer Weekend?" in the 4:00 hour of the PhilCast today.
In the 3:00 hour we debut year three of Pack Yak, previewing the season and the season-opening game this coming Sunday against the 49er's.
Rich Ratay and I will be joined by Bill Scott today as well.
Plus we've added a segment called PACKaPEEL with our associate producer Peel bringing us some audio and stories from the Packers' locker room where he'll be covering this season for the PhilCast.

4th of July on 1st of Sept.
Saturday, Sep, 1 2012
September has arrived and I can't wait for the fireworks!
Back on the 4th of July weekend our PhilCast West fireworks at the lake house were postponed due to a burning ban back when we were in the middle of a drought.
So tonight the evening will be capped with fireworks, ending a day of family fun. I've got the camera and some neighbor's unprotected internet, spotty as it is, out here so if Reggie the Producer makes the trip to see PC West for the first time I'll post proof here.
I may not get him on the wake board, but by God I'll try to make him at least eat his corn on the cob outside!
