Touchdown Wisconsin Badgers!
Wednesday, Sep, 12 2012
Crisp autumn air...Raking leaves and doing Saturday yard work...
And listening to Matt Lepay screaming out on the radio,
TOUCHDOWN WISCONSIN BADGERS!
It's part of life in the Badger state, at least my life.
Matt has a new book out called, "Why Not Wisconsin"....and today he'll join me on the PhilCast at 3:30-ish to talk about the book and share a few stories.

It's still a Packer party
Monday, Sep, 10 2012
Pack Yak kicks things off this week on the PhilCast. I know it's not what fans wanted to see Sunday, but for me it was still a Packer party goin' on, with a tiki bar blender in high gear, several grills smoking on a deck and family from out of state gathered with us around the TV.
Nieces to pieces.
That's Erin on the left, or the "BlenderMaster" as I like to call her...
And Clay there on the right was the reason we had the party...
Ali is the one visiting here with her mom, Sandy's sister from Los Angeles. Sure Ali is a transplant but she remains a Packer fan through and through.
And that little girl on the way (not much showing there near the bottom of the '52' jersey) is going to be named Phyllis...or at least that's what she tells me...mostly I think just to shut me up about bugging her about using a Phil name.
We had a great time, but of course were a bit stunned to see what was happening at Lambeau Field Sunday afternoon. That was a tough loss, dragged out even longer by all the calls and reviews from the refs.
Thing is, we've all been here before. It's the journey that really matters. The ups. The downs. It's all part of being a Packers' fan. The bottom line is that we're in it together and having fun along the way no matter what the final score is.
Rich Ratay and I will break it down and look ahead to the BEARS this Thursday night.
Talk to you at 3:00.

Tell us about your weekend plans
Friday, Sep, 7 2012
You know the drill.
It's Friday, so tell us about your weekend plans by going to the PhilCast Facebook fan page to post up.
Or...
Just call us and chat it up after the 4:00 news.
1-866-887-1150
It's a great chance to plug local events and maybe hear about something you'd like to check out this weekend.
Of course this weekend marks the start of the season for the Green Bay Packers.
Yes, there will be a PhilCast Packers' "Tweet-Up" like in season's past...even though I will be on the road for this game.
In fact, I'm thinking of awarding a gift certificate to my favorite tweet of the PC Pack Tweet-Up. Yup, lets do that!
I'll announce the winner during 'Pack Yak' most weeks.
To be a part of the PC Pack Tweet-Up just use the hashtag #philcast in your game tweets.
Again, my account there can be found by clicking here.
Go PACK Go!

$700K for a skateboard park in Appleton?
Thursday, Sep, 6 2012
I give up.$700,000 to build a skate board park in Appleton?
What in the wide, wide world a sports is a goin' on here?
I keep checking the figure to make sure I'm not adding some extra zeros some how.
Nope.
They want to spend $700,000 to build a skate board park here.
Heck, they're talking $25-$35,000 just to study out a plan to do it....and that I believe would include some taxpayer money.
Um, that's where things get interesting to me.
If a group wants to try to raise that kind of insane cash for skate boarders that's one thing. But when public funding comes into play, that's quite another.
But still I go back to that bloated figure....
$700,000?
Will the jumps be 18k gold?
I'll discuss and take your calls on this at 3:00 today.
3:45-ish we're in for a treat as my old pal Tom Brokejaw joins us live to talk about Tom being taken to a hospital this morning because he was 'light-headed' at the time.
And Lips LaBelle is back at 4:30-ish with his Hollywood news and gossip segment.
