Hump Day off

Wednesday, Oct, 16 2013

On Wednesday there will be an extra hour of the Clark Howard Show between 3:00 and 4:00. Then it's PhilCast Classic Clips from Reggie.

I'm taking a day off to spend working around the new house with Mrs. Biggest Name. Since she has only been up here in the Fox Valley for a couple of weeks, we have yet to start decorating. Heck, not all the boxes are even unpacked yet.

Back at it live on Thursday with Lips LaBelle.

Bathroom? Restaurant? It's both!

Tuesday, Oct, 15 2013

Now this is just dumb.

Take a look. That's no bathroom. It's a restaurant where they serve, well, you know, bathroom-sounding dishes and people eat while on the throne.

I don't get it.

Call me goofy, but I'll take my burger and fries at a normal old table with a chair.

Lets leave the toilets for the actual bathroom.

Wedding Weekend

Monday, Oct, 14 2013

"HowzYer Weekend?"

After Pack Yak, 3-4 today on the PhilCast we'll talk weekend and I'll talk about a road trip to the Dells for my nephew Joey's wedding.

Congrats to Michelle and Joey.

All went well and I was glad to escape from the Dells alive. (Can you tell it's not my favorite place in the world?)

Then on Sunday I fell into what can only be described as one of most tasty things I've eaten in a long time.

There is a market-type store on Highway 21 that has been there for some time. I've seen the little cafeteria area grow a lot over the years and had not eaten there in some time. We stopped on the drive home Sunday and BAM....there it was....
This pulled pork tostada was an explosion of flavors in my mouth.

Quite honestly, it was one of the most outstanding things I have eaten in a long, long time.

We took home a home-made caramel apple for later on Sunday.

There must have been a pound of caramel on that thing. We went with peanuts as well. None of those tiny square pieces here....nope...big fresh chunks of salty goodness.

Again, probably the best one I've ever eaten. I'll be back!

Where the jobs are

Friday, Oct, 11 2013

I want to talk about jobs to kick off the Friday PhilCast.
The story in a nutshell is that the gap between low-wage jobs and those with very high wages continues to get bigger.

It's UNDERemployment, something I have been talking about for some time now as being the thing about this economy that's hurting families the most.

4:10-ish we lead into the "Security Luebke Roofing Rascal of the Week" with a chat with Shannon from Security Luebke Roofing, another one of the newest sponsors of the show.

First of all, not only do they know roofs and Gutter Toppers, they have extremely good taste in vehicles!

Punishing punishments

Thursday, Oct, 10 2013

One of the stories I'll talk about on the Thursday PhilCast is about a mom's creative punishment for her son.

Turns out it got her into trouble.

Which brings me to the broader question I will also discuss as a topic; What's the worst punishment you remember getting as a kid?

Mine?

It's a Christmas parade story that I'll share with you this afternoon.

Post your story at the PhilCast Facebook Fan Page.
