Stones to Milwaukee; Keith to PhilCast

Tuesday, Mar, 31 2015

June 23rd.
The Rolling Stones roll into Milwaukee to open Summerfest a day early on the shores of Lake Michigan.

And somehow, Keith Richards is still alive and kicking and playing.

In honor of the big concert announcement today, I'll be digging deep into the classic clips audio vault to pull out one of the early interviews I did with puppet Keith from 1998 in another radio life.

We'll open the Tuesday PhilCast with some classic Stones.

Dogs at a funeral

Monday, Mar, 30 2015

The bond between man and dog is a strong one.

Or in this case, old woman in Mexico and in plural.

The elderly lady used to feed stray dogs at her home for some time.

When she passed away at least four dogs tracked her down and showed up at the visitation.

Some even stayed after that!

The full story as part of the Monday PhilCast show.

World's Most Interesting Cardboard

Wednesday, Mar, 25 2015

One of the stories I'll be talking about on the Wednesday PhilCast is this guy who tried to cheat the system to use the HOV lane.

Yes, that's the World's Most Interesting Man cardboard cutout he has there as his fake passenger.

Didn't work.

Trooper busted the guy, but must have appreciated the creativity because he tweeted out the picture after the stop.

The move cost the guy over a hundred bucks.

Appleton Roundabouts

Tuesday, Mar, 24 2015

Are you one of those people who fear these things?

"Roundabout-itis" perhaps?

On the Tuesday PhilCast I'll talk about some the newest roundabouts coming to "The Medium Apple".

And yes roundabout-haters, they ARE coming.

One of them is at an intersection now that makes no sense at all and is flat-out dangerous as it stands.

Roundabouts have a proven track record of being a safe alternative to the old-school stop signs or lights. Plus, they tend to keep traffic flowing more evenly with less stopping in most cases than if there were lights or signs.

Yet people have this 'thing' about roundabouts.
This fear is unexplainable to me, except to theorize that people don't like change and many just are not used to them. That should change as more and more roundabouts are built in our area.
