Hot or Not?

Monday, Oct, 1 2012

October arrives!
Back at it for a full week of the PhilCast.

Today from 3-4 Rich Ratay joins me for Pack Yak as we go over a close-call win for the Green and Gold. I've got some issues with the refs (again) and a question for Rich to clarify about something that happened during that game involving the ref that you may not have heard about.

"Howz Yer Weekend" at 4-ish, as we chat up and rate our weekends.

Also today...
Hot or Not?
A pretty funny story about the Egyptian information minister hitting on the woman interviewing him!
Hot or Not?
He thinks hot.
CLICK HERE to see the clip. His chuckle and interest is universal!

A lesson to learn from the "Bearded Lady"

Friday, Sep, 28 2012

There she is.

No Photoshop here, just a dose of reality and perhaps a lesson or two learned from this woman in line at a store.

Yes, that's a woman with facial hair....lots of it.

Some guy thought it would be funny to snap a picture of her and post it on the internet.

What he didn't count on was learning a life lesson in a complete turn around thanks to the comments people left about her and what he had done.

What happened in the end is that something good came out of something that started ugly. It's a fascinating story that I'll comment on to start the Friday PhilCast.

Are you ready for some REAL football?!

Thursday, Sep, 27 2012

So I awake Thursday to the news that it's finally over.

Amazing what can be accomplished at the bargaining table after a major 'oops' on the field in front of a national television audience. It's just too bad that out of all the teams in the NFL the Green Bay Packers had to be the ones to take the bullet as the sacrificial lamb.

I'm still upset about the entire thing, but as the players keep saying, "It's time to move on."

But not before one more shot at the replacement refs in a PhilCast show open that I put together to kick things off today. Give me one more today, then I'll move on but I don't think I'll ever forget about it.

And if the Packers' season comes down to needing one more win to get into the playoffs or even capture home-field advantage you better believe this whole scab is going to be picked wide open once again at that point by the fans.

Death of Andy Williams

Wednesday, Sep, 26 2012

It's not really Christmas until I hear him singing "It's the most wonderful time of the year..."

Andy Williams died last night at the age of 84 after battling bladder cancer for about a year.

That single song is one of my all-time favorite Christmas songs.

And if you are old enough to remember them, his Christmas specials on television were the best. Anyone who was anyone would want to be a guest on Andy's Christmas special each year.

There was a warm-fuzzy about him and those specials bring back great memories of Christmas for me each time I see them.

And now, thanks to YouTube, it is easier than ever to enjoy timeless, classic Andy Williams.

One of the great ones.
