Fired over a muffin

Thursday, Jun, 26 2014

I understand the business has rules.

I understand an employee violated a minor rule.

I even understand that he did it more than once.

But I still so not understand why he was fired, even though the company had every right to do so.
That still doesn't make it right.

I've got the story first thing today on the Thursday PhilCast....IF you have enough attention span left after World Cup fever today.

A new Oreo is here

Wednesday, Jun, 25 2014

Hit or miss?

Yes or no?

Like or dislike?

Thumbs up or thumbs down?

Would you even try them?

Why do they continue to mess with a classic?

So many questions.

When to quit your job

Tuesday, Jun, 24 2014

Things are very different now than they used to be at work.

Times were you landed a solid job at a good company and you worked there for decades until you retired and they gave you a lunch and a gold watch.

Not any more.

In fact, if you are staying at your current job out of some sense of loyalty, you're making a financial mistake.

You'd do better to move on every few years.

I'll have the story from the experts as part of the Tuesday PhilCast.

Dorito Roulette

Monday, Jun, 23 2014

Would YOU play?

"Doritos Roulette" has come of age.

One out of every seven Doritos in this bag looks the same as the others but is incredibly hot.

You never see it coming.
You don't know who'll get their mouth set on fire.

Fun party game huh?

Right now they are only available in Canada, and no word yet on whether they'll be heading our way here in the US.

We'll discuss as part of the Monday PhilCast show.

Who do you trust for news?

Friday, Jun, 20 2014

On the Friday PhilCast I'll talk about a new Gallup survey that shows which outlets Americans trust for getting their news.

The biggest nuggets I took from the story;

--Gallup thinks newspapers will be dead and gone within five years

--There is no mention of radio as a means for getting news

Clearly, I have a problem with both.
We'll discuss.
